Description

rotor mountainbike Unior Rotor Truing Fork 2.0 (1666/6)A disc rotor that's even slightly out of true rubs the pads at every revolution. You hear it as a whisper under braking; you feel it as a pulse in the lever. Rotors warp under heat cycling, take a set after a crash, or pull sideways when the rotor bolts get an uneven torque sequence during install. The Rotor Truing Fork 2. 0 lets you correct the warp without removing the wheel: multiple notches at different angles give you leverage at the exact point

A disc rotor that's even slightly out of true rubs the pads at every revolution. You hear it as a whisper under braking; you feel it as a pulse in the lever. Rotors warp under heat-cycling, take a set after a crash, or pull sideways when the rotor bolts get an uneven torque sequence during install. The Rotor Truing Fork 2.0 lets you correct the warp without removing the wheel: multiple notches at different angles give you leverage at the exact point the rotor needs to bend, and the laser-cut tool-steel blade takes the workload without flexing.

The notches seat over rotors up to 2.4 mm thick, which covers every road and MTB rotor we've measured against the fork in the workshop. After laser cutting, the blade is heat-treated, which is the difference that matters in use: the slot edges don't deform under the leverage you have to apply to bend a rotor. The slot edges hold their shape under the leverage that would deform mild steel.

This is a workshop tool, not a trailside one. At 158 g and 190 mm long it lives on the bench (there's a hole on the back for hanging), and it works the rotor while the wheel is still in the dropouts. You isolate the bent section against a notch and apply leverage perpendicular to the disc face. Small corrections, checked against the caliper's pad clearance, until the rub clears.

When truing is the right call

Truing has limits. A rotor that's been heat-cycled to discoloration in multiple spots is past saving; straightening it bends the metal back through grain that's no longer uniform. If the rotor is thinner than the manufacturer's published wear limit (Shimano's spec is 1.5 mm; check the stamping or spec sheet for your rotor), the answer is the same. That's a replacement, not a truing job. The fork is for the in-between case: a localized warp on a rotor that's otherwise within service spec.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The truing fork's laser-cut tool steel and heat treatment are workshop-grade decisions, not consumer-grade ones. You can tell the difference the first time you put load on the blade.

Pro tip from our mechanics

Always let calipers and rotors cool to ambient before truing. Hot rotors are softer and bend further than you intend, and a bent-too-far rotor is harder to true back than the original warp. Our disc-brake-rub guide covers how to tell whether truing will fix the rub or whether the rotor's already past the point where straightening helps: Fix disc brake rub →

FAQ

What tool do shops use to straighten a warped disc rotor? A rotor truing fork. The notches seat over the bent section at the angle you need, and the heat-treated tool-steel blade gives you the leverage to bend the rotor back toward true in small corrections, rechecking pad clearance as you go.

Do I need to remove the wheel to true a disc rotor? No. The fork works with the wheel still in the dropouts: isolate the bend against a notch, lever perpendicular to the disc face, and recheck clearance. The notches fit discs as thick as 2.4 mm, road or MTB.

Should the rotor be hot or cold when you true it? Cold, always at ambient temperature. A hot rotor is softer and bends more than you mean it to, and a rotor bent too far is harder to bring back than the original warp was to fix.

Stays put and dissolves slowly. Orange flavor is nice.
If you have to use something overnight for dry mouth definitely get these. I use one nightly with my mouth guard. The orange flavor is very nice and it dissolves slowly overnight. It's small enough to do the trick, but not be overpowering. It stays put. And it works. Definitely notice the improvement inside my mouth.

This is a seminal book on psychotherapy. A must have!
Format: Hardcover
In the age of virtual (dis)connection, concerning high rates of depression and anxiety, and the importance of self-reliance and individualism, this book comes as a lighthouse of hope and direction. Attachment Theory in Practice is a must-have for any therapist who is looking to deepen their work and bring desired transformation and change to their clients’ lives. The book provides a beautiful overview of the current state of the mental health field and the need for focusing on emotion, attachment and connection in psychotherapy. Dr. Johnson reminds us that “in order to shape optimal regulation that allows clients to harness their emotions for growth and aliveness, therapists have to ensure that clients are actively engaged with an emotional reality.” She echoes the findings from research on emotion regulation and suggests that “coregulation, rather than solo self-regulation, is the baseline, normal, and most-efficient strategy for us as social animals.” Dr. Jonson clearly posits that change is an emotional and an interpersonal phenomenon. The book also outlines very practical guidance to working with couples, individuals, and families using the the attachment framework and EFT. As a therapist who is interested in science and empiricism, I am delighted to see the tremendous amount of research support EFT for couples has received over the past decade and I look forward to learning more about the findings in the areas of EFIT and EFFT.

A Foundational Book in EFT
Format: Hardcover
In a field of books about EFT, Sue Johnson’s new book provides an up-to-date summary of the latest developments in the EFT method, including applications for individual, couple and family therapy. Having been a student of EFT for 12 years or more, this book was more than a repetition of the fundamentals of the method, its stages and steps, which appear in her earlier books and have been elaborated by other authors. Here, I found her efforts to situate EFT conceptually in the field of psychotherapy, not only its attitude toward defining health and distress, but the underlying principles for its attitude toward how change occurs and its unique principles for how therapists help clients (individual, couple or family) foster change in themselves and their lives. She explains and illustrates the use of the EFT Tango moves, which implement the EFT method within the clinical dialogue and actualize the change process. No doubt, this book will become a primary source for future EFT training and is worth both reading and mastering cover-to-cover.

Broadens EFT Couple frame to individual and family work
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I am really digging in to this. Even though it is an academic book, I find it highly readable and pragmatic. I am chewing slowly on pieces and am using my attachment TANGO (read the book) with my individual clients to great effect. Previously I would use an attachment frame but it wasn’t as focused and organized. Really an orienting perspective. Of course I am also integrating this precisely written guide with my couples, as I am an EFT couple therapist. And for classroom teaching the first few chapters alone highlight—and back up with research the reliability of attachment as a unifying frame. I call it my “map for human” and it Really is. Thank you Sur for putting all that research in one place.
